Jaden Dsouza charged in crash that killed sister Haily Dsouza, Crystal Alba-Figueroa on Southern State Parkway

A 19-year-old motorist from Queens faces multiple charges after he allegedly drove while high and crashed a car on the Southern State Parkway Sunday night, killing his sister and another passenger while seriously injuring the front-seat passenger and himself, state police said.
Around 11:09 p.m., Jaden Dsouza was speeding and weaving a 2016 Dodge Dart in and out of lanes when he lost control and crashed into a tree on the shoulder near Exit 30 in North Massapequa, police said.
Dsouza, of College Point, and his 23-year-old front passenger were extracted from the car and taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
Rear passengers Haily Dsouza, 21, who was trapped inside the car, and Crystal Alba-Figueroa, 23, who was ejected, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police confirmed Tuesday that Jaden Dsouza and Haily Dsouza were siblings.
Jaden Dsouza was charged with one count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, second-degree manslaughter, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree assault and aggravated vehicular homicide, police said.
The eastbound roadway was closed shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday between Exits 29 and 30. The parkway reopened before 6 a.m. on Monday, authorities said.
