A fire early Sunday in an unoccupied house in Glen Head, caused "substantial damage," authorities said.

The house, on High Farms Road, had been abandoned for some time, according to Glenwood Fire Chief Donald Sinski.

The fire was extinguished in about 45 minutes by the Glenwood Fire Department with the help of the Sea Cliff and Glen Cove fire departments, Sinski said.

No injuries were reported, Sinski said.

Three vehicles parked in the driveway were also badly burned, police said. The cause is under investigation by Nassau's arson/bomb squad.
